Teachers protest against unpaid salaries in Gbako Local Government of Niger State

Teachers in Gbako Local Government went on strike over issues that includes non payment of July salary.


This was air out after a demonstration of peaceful protest held in Lemu town. The protesters were mainly the head teachers

The Hon. Chairman Gbako Local Government Hon. Hussaini Aliyu Lemu has advice the newly recruited class teachers to take their job passionately and work efficiently and effectively towards impacting their younger one's.  The Hon. Chairman represented by the council secretary Hon. Mohammed Ndako (Mazzi) gave the advice during documentation of newly appointed class teachers. He however, charge them not to relax in discharging their duties as a class teachers and describe punctuality and tolerance as the quality of a good teacher. Earlier in his remarks, the Education Secretary,  Gbako Local Government, congratulate the newly recruited class teachers urge them to cooperate with their supervisors for sound and quality knowledge to the pupils.

Hon. Hussaini Aliyu Lemu, in his opening remark congratulates the people of Gbako for a successful celebration of Eid ul- Fitr.  In his remark, the Hon. Chairman urged all the traditional leaders, security chiefs, youths to be law abiding citizens and continue to maintain peace and harmony. He however stress the need of maintaining the rules and regulations as stated by the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).  The rules involves social distancing, wearing of face mask, washing hand with clean water and sanitizer to help contain the spread of COVID 19. The Etsuyankpa of Lemu, Alh. Ibrahim Abubakar pleadge to work in tandem with the chairman directive as part of measures to end this pandemic.  In his key note however,  urged the youth to desist from drug abuse as the Eid ul Fitr celebration continue.

Most Vulnerable Citizens in any given community.  ii. Vulnerable women identified as a widow, or a female headed household. iii. The enterprising youth. iv. The rural farmer who depends on farming as a source of income and daily means of survival. v. Co-orperative groups and associations with common enterprise, values, belief and norms.
