 SENSITIZATION TALK ON RAPE, DOMESTIC VIOLENCE & CHILD ABUSE DELIVERED IN LEMU, ETSU-AUDU AND EDOZHIGI DISTRICT OF GBAKO LOCAL GOVERNMENT.

These words (RAPE) are not news again, it is happening around the world and now here in our state.
The chairperson Mrs.Rahmat Hussaini led a campaign against rape in partnership with the Women Representive Gbako Local Government Council Mrs. Susan Aliyu.

1) Ekeba Kpaka ( Rape) this is forceful entry ( sex) into a person either male of female  by empowering the victim without consent
Example:-a) 25 yr old rapes 85 yr old woman in Rafi local government.

b) 13 yr old rapes 7 yr old in chanchanga, minna. The list is countless.
It happens amongst:- men and small girls, gang raping, father's and daughters, masters and house girls/ salesgirls.

Causes:- pride, anger, offences, deliberate doing evil, unnecessary selling of things amongst children, indecent dressing amongst others

Effects:-  transimision of deadly diseases like gonorrhea, hiv/ aids
2) unwanted pregnancy
3) shame for the victim
4) lack of self respect
5) fear for the victim

Counsel/ shakira
Take precautions, be close to your children, be accessible, try to fend for your child, it is your responsibility. The law has 14 yrs in jail for offenders, the Niger state house of assembly is discussing possible death penalty for offenders.

 Remedies:- closeness to children
2) counsel from parents
3) avoid bad friends
4) adherence to the word of God( both religions)
5) selling  in public places

Anger/ fight that causes bodily harm and sometimes death
 Happens between husband and wives, children and parents, amongst siblings
 Example: woman stabs husband 7 times , husband beats wife for eating gizzard , child takes snipper because of parents unnecessary comparison.

Cause:- no consideration for others
2) anger
3) wickedness
4) nagging
5)greed
6) unforgiveness

Effects:-
1)Physical damage
2)Emotional damage
3) un explained illnesses ( eg high blood pressure, cancer)
4) unnecessary spending

 Remedies:-
1) tolerance
2) love
3)  following the word and examples from the word God ( both religion)
4)good communication
5) avoid bad counsel/ bad friends

3) Binakun yan egi bagi / inzagi ( child abuse)
This is the act of being wicked to a child or ward under your care.
The world is changing and the methods of punishment should be readdressed . Causing bodily harm or with words can damage a child's self esteem which will yeild negativity for the nation.

 Causes:-
1) unnecessary anger
2) lack of understanding
3) too much expectation from parents
4) child comparison with peers

drug abuse ( child looks for alternative way of getting solution)
2) lies to cover up action/ deceit
3) alignning with bad friends
4) distortion of behaviour
5) unruly attitudes

 How to dictate victims of child abuse: fear, unnecessary/ sucidal  posts in social media or talk amongst friend

Types of child abuse:- physical and emotional.
Recently a young undergraduate took snipper and died because according to people his parents were comparing him with his peers/ siblings

Remedies:- re appraise your punishment styles, get close to.your children, have parent child discussions, be their role models.

The Honourable Chairman Gbako Local Government, Lemu Niger State

Hon. Hussaini Aliyu Lemu, in his opening remark congratulates the people of Gbako for a successful celebration of Eid ul- Fitr.  In his remark, the Hon. Chairman urged all the traditional leaders, security chiefs, youths to be law abiding citizens and continue to maintain peace and harmony. He however stress the need of maintaining the rules and regulations as stated by the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).  The rules involves social distancing, wearing of face mask, washing hand with clean water and sanitizer to help contain the spread of COVID 19. The Etsuyankpa of Lemu, Alh. Ibrahim Abubakar pleadge to work in tandem with the chairman directive as part of measures to end this pandemic.  In his key note however,  urged the youth to desist from drug abuse as the Eid ul Fitr celebration continue. 

Gbako Local Government Education Authority Lemu, Niger State. Has Commence Documentation for newly recruited class teachers.

The Hon. Chairman Gbako Local Government Hon. Hussaini Aliyu Lemu has advice the newly recruited class teachers to take their job passionately and work efficiently and effectively towards impacting their younger one's.  The Hon. Chairman represented by the council secretary Hon. Mohammed Ndako (Mazzi) gave the advice during documentation of newly appointed class teachers. He however, charge them not to relax in discharging their duties as a class teachers and describe punctuality and tolerance as the quality of a good teacher. Earlier in his remarks, the Education Secretary,  Gbako Local Government, congratulate the newly recruited class teachers urge them to cooperate with their supervisors for sound and quality knowledge to the pupils.
