SENSITIZATION TALK ON RAPE, DOMESTIC VIOLENCE & CHILD ABUSE DELIVERED IN LEMU, ETSU-AUDU AND EDOZHIGI DISTRICT OF GBAKO LOCAL GOVERNMENT.
These words (RAPE) are not news again, it is happening around the world and now here in our state.
Causes:- pride, anger, offences, deliberate doing evil, unnecessary selling of things amongst children, indecent dressing amongst others
Effects:- transimision of deadly diseases like gonorrhea, hiv/ aids
2) unwanted pregnancy
3) shame for the victim
4) lack of self respect
5) fear for the victim
Counsel/ shakira
Take precautions, be close to your children, be accessible, try to fend for your child, it is your responsibility. The law has 14 yrs in jail for offenders, the Niger state house of assembly is discussing possible death penalty for offenders.
Remedies:- closeness to children
2) counsel from parents
3) avoid bad friends
4) adherence to the word of God( both religions)
5) selling in public places

Recently a young undergraduate took snipper and died because according to people his parents were comparing him with his peers/ siblings
Remedies:- re appraise your punishment styles, get close to.your children, have parent child discussions, be their role models.
