Gbako Local Government Council Chairman, Hon. Hussaini Aliyu Lemu has felicitated with the  Christians in the local government as they celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. In a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Hassan Bawa, Hon. Hussaini also urged Christians to use the festive occasion to pray for unity, peace and prosperity of Niger State. He called on Christians  to rededicate themselves to the service of humanity in line with the true teachings of Jesus Christ which emphasises tolerance, patience, brotherly kindness, care for the needy and love for one another, among other virtues. “The yuletide season presents us an opportunity once more to love, share and forgive. The outgoing director, Mr. Jacob B. Legbo, in his remarks give thanks to almighty God for giving him the great opportunity to serve the government, the director also thank the staff for giving their best throughout his service year, he however, urge the staff to always put their duties as first priority.  The deputy director, Mal. The new Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Major General Faruk Yahaya was born on 5 January 1966 in Sifawa, Bodinga Local Government Area of Sokoto state. Maj Gen Yahaya who is a member of the 37 Regular Course of the prestigious Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), started his cadet training on 27 September 1985 and was commissioned into the Nigerian Army Infantry Corps on 22 September 1990. Young woman reportedly burnt to death by jealous co-wife in Niger State seven weeks after her wedding A newlywed woman identified as Fatima from Katsina State was reportedly burnt to death by her husband's first wife in Minna, Niger State.   The incident happened on Tuesday, March 23, about seven weeks after the deceased got married to the Niger state indigene.  A family source, who spoke to Katsina Post, said the two wives were not living in the same house.  According to him, the first wife went to Fatima's house and beat her to pulp. Afterwards, she locked her up inside the room and set it on fire, burning the new bride to death.  "They were not living in the same house but the first wife went to her house which is not far and beaten her to death before locking her room up and setting her ablaze”, the family source said.
