Governor Abubakar Sani Bello of Niger State has sworn in the newly elected 24 Local Government Chairmen with a strong call on them to collaborate with the state government to generate and boost the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) in order to enable them to carry out their responsibilities. Speaking during the swearing-in ceremony held at Government House, Thursday, Governor Sani Bello drew the attention of the Chairmen to the financial challenges facing the state and urged them to work closely with the state government in order to facilitate increased revenue generation to enable them to meet up with the aspirations of the people. "Let me draw your attention to the difficulties being faced in recent times with regards to funding and resources. This has called for a collaboration between the state government and the local government to find ways to generate more revenue so that we can carry out the affairs of governance."
